With the upper control arm removed get
after the grunge and road filth however pleases you !
Inspect for cracks, after a thorough scrubbing with the infamous wire brush on
a drill , the cracks and broken spot welds will become visible.
Because of the triple wall construction of the shock tower, contaminates can
easily enter a crack . Wash well with carb or brake cleaner. When welding heat burns
residues the bead emits much splatter. Get it clean. I use a mini grinder to scuff
the area to be welded.
