Its getting impossible to find 68 Mustang GT

“A
LITTLE HISTORY OF THIS PARTICULAR 1968 Mustang California Special 390 S-Code”
For
the first 39 years it spend its life in the Dallas, Texas area. In (around) 1997/1998
a couple of local Mustang Club judges purchased the car and did a complete rotisserie
restoration – not a speck of rust was found. At that time it was what developed into
concurs condition – before we go any further this car is not a trailer queen it is
driven – but it’s as nice as you will find out there.
I purchased the car in
2007 and brought the car back to California and started to replicate the 1998 condition
– I’d say I have come pretty close.
It still has the RUST FREE Body, Chassis
& Engine Bay
The engine, transmission and rear- end have all been rebuilt
by professionals – less than 2500 miles.
Factory original stock air cleaner
The
interior is great and stock with all the hard to find pieces
Replaced wiring
with correct wire loom – installed by Mustang professionals in 2008.
Paint is
Candy Apple Red
Brakes replaced, new pads installed
Suspension – original
- On a personal note: This is my 4th Mustang and it is being sold to start another
Mustang project. I can only have so many toys.
The body on this car is a straight
as you can find
The chrome is great
Everything works as it should
This
is a car that has been well cared for, and one that has seen occasional, fair weather,
weekend use in Southern California. The land of no rain.
The dash is also very
nice and contains the original gauges
MECHANICAL CONDITION - RUNNING / DRIVING
For
the purist, the strength of this car is that it has escaped the modifications that
we see on many of the older Mustangs
I do recommend that if you obtain this California
Special that you allocate your time when driving it as “everybody” will ask you about
it and in many cases have a story to tell; be prepared to meet a wide variety of
new friends and enthusiasts.
